Channel, Trent-Severn Waterway, Ontario
This is one of many channels between Clear Lake and Stoney Lake in the Trent-Severn Waterway. Just as in Georgian Bay, boaters must be wary of many rocks and narrow channels.
The scenery along the waterway is spectacular and if you’re a boater, it’s a trip you must consider taking. The little white building in the centre is a non-denominational church for cottagers to attend on Sunday mornings. One can only reach the church by boat. Of course it’s only open in the nice summer and fall weather.

Channel Island Bathymetry
This area around the Channel Islands is known as the California Borderlands. These islands are a result of folding and compression of the Pacific Plate against the north American Plate. Note the direction of the islands which shows the basic northwest direction of the Pacific plate.
