1. Standing on Devil’s bridge
Worldnomads.com 2009 Travel Photography Scholarship:
From the entrance of this side of the park it was quite a walk going up to the Devil’s bridge, taking us high over the gorge formed by the Tolminka. It was quite a distance down to the river. The light was good and I could get just the shot I wanted with our whole group and the depth of the gorge.

4. Thermal hot water source
Worldnomads.com 2009 Travel Photography Scholarship:
The thermal spring that feeds the water besides the melting snow from the top of the mountains, is located in the center of the image just below the rocks. The two guys in the image give a scale of how much rock the water has carved out over the years, really showing its force. The light was highlighting exactly the right places.

2. Descriptions deep down in the gorge
Worldnomads.com 2009 Travel Photography Scholarship:
Starting out at the top of the Tolmin gorge, we made our way down to the bottom. Arriving at the actual river Tolminka that created the gorge over the years. However, we wanted to find out what kind of fish were swimming in the river and for that we had to translate the Slovenian/German/French/English description, why no Dutch descriptions? 😉
