Mercury over the Danube
The innermost planet, Mercury, is usually difficult to see for observers at mid-northern latitudes. At evening apparitions around the March equinox, however, Mercury is sometimes easily visible at dusk. In this image, taken on March 21, 2011, Mercury appears in the evening twilight over the Danube river in Linz, Austria.

Exposure was 2 seconds at ISO 1600, 32mm, f/4.0. This image was taken when I had the pleasure of doing some night time photos together with Babak A. Tafreshi, founder and director of The World At Night (TWAN). Here you can see the photo that Babak took on the same occasion.
