 Great Table, but Problems with Shipments, November 8, 2010

I’ve been looking for a small affordable table that seats four with a solid wood top and this one seemed to fit what I’ve been looking for. I had no problem ordering but it did come in two shipments. The first was the base, which is hollow and was not packaged properly so when it arrived, the base was cracked from top to bottom in two areas. I contacted Visiondecor and they immidiately sent out a new base to replace the cracked one. The second shipment came which included the table top, supports for under the top, and the legs for the base. The four supports that hold the table top were two different colors. There was one dark brown, which matched the color of the table, and three lighter colored supports. I contacted Visiondecor once again with a photo of the mis-matching supports and they sent out replacement parts as soon as it was available.  Good table for a reasonable price, August 3, 2011

I purchased this table from Amazon for $218.00 plus shipping. It arrived about a week after I ordered it, which isn’t as fast as Amazon usually ships, but it was acceptable to me.
I would give it five stars except for the following:
1) The pedestal had a hairline crack about four inches long from the base running upward. This was not something that I considered worth the trouble of returning it. But I certainly am not the only person to have received damaged pieces, so just be aware that damage seems to be a continuing quality control issue with this company.
2) The staining on all four pieces of the supports for the table top was incomplete. Each of the four supports had a thumbprint sized bare spot (completely unstained wood) on the edge closest to the center pedestal. Again, since they’re not ever seen, I thought it would be easier to just use some Old English Scratch Polish (which I already had in the correct color) rather than return the… Read more

This table fit the bill for our budget, and I don’t think we could have gotten better for our money. The color is perfect, and the assembly was easy enough. It’s true that the base is hollow, but it is very sturdy. I wouldn’t let that deter a purchase though. The packaging was excellent as well! I think if you like the picture, then you will be more than satisfied when you receive this table!

Another great tool from Panasonic, October 4, 2011

I purchased this combo kit to replace an older Panasonic drill and impact that began to die. I wasn’t looking for a hammer drill because I don’t need the extra weight and I own a cordless Panasonic sds drill. This kit was available while the one without the hammer drill was not.
The impact is just as good as my last one. I really like the ability to turn down the rpms with a button. It allows for alot more finesse when working with more delicate things. The work light is good, but I would prefer it to be above the trigger where it acts more like a flash light.
The drill is about a pound heavier than my last drill (without hammer). I find that it doesn’t bother me too much. It’s still alot lighter than an older 18v dewalt drill. The hammer function is about as unimpressive as any other cordless hammer drill I’ve used. (After buying the cordless sds, there is no comparison. The 15.6 inch Vizio Thin & Light is simply flawless. It is the best designed PC I have ever seen. I love the fact that the screen is 1080p and is matte. The surface is finger print proof and the body feels really durable. The only minor complaint is that the track pad isn’t as amazing as the MacBook track pad. But in comparison to other PCs, this laptop probably has one of the better track pads. The keyboard may look a bit awkward, but after trying it and seeing in person, I am simply amazed. Typing is so easy and smooth. However, it might be a little loud compared to other laptops. The bottom has a soft rubber touch, making it easier to grip. The camera is probably one of the best cameras I’ve ever seen on a laptop. It shoots in 720p. The audio system is crisp and loud. I’d say that it is even better than the Beats Audio in my HP laptop. It does not offer a SD slot, but that should not deter people from buying this laptop. It is simply sleek, fast, and beautiful. Good job Vizio.

Excellent machine for the price, July 19, 2012

After purchasing the 15inch Vizio thin & light notebook at the Microsoft Store a few weeks back, and here are my thoughts:
First, the specs of my machine are the following:
15.6″ 1080p IPS matte screen
Intel Core i7 (3rd generation “Ivy-Bridge” processor)
4GB RAM
256GB Solid-state hard drive
2x USB 3.0 ports
1x HDMI port
Price: $1199 + tax + $200 Microsoft Store gift card
First of all, I have to say that this machine is a great value for what you are paying. Don’t be fooled by the Amazon pricing, I purchased this system for $1199 at the Microsoft Store, and it is listed at $1399 on Amazon (it’s even $1249 on the Microsoft Store site, but I got a small discount, but I’m not sure why). Also, if you are a current college student, you can also get a free Xbox 360 4GB console when you purchase this laptop from the Microsoft Store (although I think a few other retailers such as NewEgg and Best Buy also have that promotion). Too many problems to recommend, July 30, 2012

A beautiful laptop with a lot of issues. The laptop looks great and the screen is very clear. One of the only 1080p ultrabooks with a TPM chip so it works well from a corporate security standpoint. Very quick startup time and overall seems quick and responsive both when in use as well as startup/shutdown. Windows 8 is incredibly fast and 7 is not that far behind. One other plus is the support. So far I’ve gotten two quick responses through their live chat. Both responses weren’t helpful, but it is nice to get someone quickly that can at least confirm your issue.
Some of problems I have with the laptop so far:
Battery life not as good as advertised. Mild use is closer to the 3.5-4 hour range.
Abbreviated keyboard. I’m not sure why with all the room on both sides of the keyboard they decided to leave off the PgUp, PgDn, Home and End keys. I use Alt+Home all day long in browsers and the other keys for word processing and general navigation… Read more

Toners Pub – Baggot Street – Dublin
Toners Pub on Baggot Street, Dublin, Ireland. Taken at night, only natural light sources (i.e. street lights), Jan 2005. Exposure was around 30 secs, compensating development to reduce inherent high contrast of night scenes.
Hasselblad, Ilford Pan F Plus (ISO 50) film, developed in Rodinal, printed on Ilford Multigrade FB paper.
Starting from black and white medium format negative that I printed in my darkroom, some dodging and burning applied. I then scanned the resulting black and white print. No Photoshop applied. Basically, traditional old-fashioned black and white photograph.
